I have spent another afternoon looking for photographs. I fear that the attic bedroom will never recover.
I didn't find any photographs. Instead, I found a bundle of letters and cards that I had written to Ann when we were courting.
Life can be a bit tricky at times.
I don't think I shall post anything else today. I shall distract myself by reading all the lovely Blogs posted by those of you who have commented upon mine.
Thank you.

Ripley (the autistic one) couldn't give a monkeys. Hudson shivers and cuddles me. He literally can't get close enough. He is pressed right against me as I write.

I'll be celebrating bonfire night here in America, too. We have a pub here (one of only two American breweries listed in Britain's Best Breweries Guide...), and they do it up right. It's hard to explain to people what the bonfire's for, though...
It gets better. Honest.
I've been reading your blog since Tracy posted the link. Your writing is wonderful, has made me cry more than once and anything I say will be trite in comparison. But I am glad for you that you found the letters today. And I hope the fireworks have stopped near you and your dogs for the night!
a knitting butler, now there's a thought! I hope the letters and cards have brought happy memories, and that you can feel ok about remembering those different times. take care.
