Reading my last post, I think I may have given a false impression of my clerk. She is sweet, well-meaning, efficient. To her, it has been two months since Ann died. To me, it was yesterday - and a lifetime ago.
I sat looking at my computer after reading your blog. I want to say something that might help but what can I say that hasn't already been said. I am so sorry. I hope your pain eases as the weeks go on. Take care.
I know, sometimes being the survivor seems like a punishment, but rachel is right, life starts again . . .
Friends supporting you on one side, work keeping you occupied on the other, they save you from drowning till you are strong enough for a little floating on your own.
You may not be ready for regular work, but maybe a little pro bono for someone facing another kind of despair…? To keep that kind clerk busy?

I suppose, in time, you could use work as a distraction, and as merely the means to pay for further distractions...when you are ready for them.

perhaps your secretary is trying to give you just enough work to go on with...?
enought to keep your mind active
would be simpler to 'talk' to you if you had an email....
