Today was a special day.

Today, in a remote place...
Ann's place...

... a few of Ann's friends gathered.

They came in ones;

and twos; and threes; and fours.

Hudson came;

and so did Ripley.

They came to celebrate Ann...

... and to gather around a bench;

the bench...

they had built...

... For Ann.

That looks like a fabulous place to sit and watch the hounds running after good sniffs. It's good to remember.

A lovely bench in a lovely place, for (by all accounts) a lovely person - given by lovely friends.

Thank you for sharing with us.

Take care :-) x

(This is the second time I've left this comment because I cocked up the first one ... tsk)

Of the Five Buddhist Remembrances, the fifth says:

My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground on which I stand.

Ann's bench is a beautiful tribute to a short but very well lived life!

I always think benches are wonderful memorials and when my best friend died we had one positioned in a special place. There have been times when sitting on that bench has been really comforting. I hope it brings you the same.
